The change that has been made, is that cancelled has been the clause, stating the priority to work, to even out the legal status of member associations of SGS to governmental union.<\/p>\n<p>With this agreement is set a statement, signed by both parties, which states, that it has always been written in law and agreements, that it is illegal to discriminate people by what union they are a member of, if there are more than one union in the area that have collective agreement with the municipality. If so, the employee has the freedom of choosing what union he wants to be member of. Representatives and employees of the municipality CAN NOT order their applicants to become members of a certain union.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Return of membership fees<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It seems to be a common misunderstanding, both between employers and employees, that if the employee chooses to not be a member of a union, there should not be paid membership fee to a union. That is completely incorrect, because, in 6th article, clause no 55 from 1980, it is clearly stated that the employer is obligated to hold back the premium of each employee in any particular union, and make sure it is paid, including the matching funds, into the funds of the union.<br \/>\nAt AS\u00cd (Icelandic Confederation of Labor) web site, there can be found more detailed information regarding this matter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Lost billions?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Now, the fishermen contracts are open and there have been made claims from parties involved. In direct relation to this matter, a claim has been made from the negotiating committee of fishermen, that the government will get made an independent investigation of the sales value of the product of Icelandic fisheries. This will be done to get a final price of the products and what of it is actually returned to Iceland. There are enormous interests at state, both for the fishermen and the nation itself.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Finally, I want to remind representatives of companies that registration of their real owners has to registered to the Skattur (tax office) before 1.3.2020<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\nRegards,<br \/>\nVignir S.
